English football records reminds me of my country, Finland’s hockey record. We won WC first time in 1995, and so many times we have been close. But there’s always hope, my friends, for everyone, because last year on May, after 16 years, we did it again! Never give up hope! =)

England always get knocked out in dodgy circumstances or penalties. 1986 – Marradona Handball. 1990 – Penalties. 1996 – Penalties. 1998 – Beckham sending off/Penalties. 2000 – Romania Penalty in dying minutes. 2004 – Penalties. 2006 – Rooney sending off/Penalties. 2010 – Lampard’s goal disallowed.

As an Englishman, these are the moments you endure, the missed penalties, the fumbled shots, the bad defending, the crazy subs, the dodgy tactics, all of these things for that brief moment of magic that shows the world we could be the best, just please God, don’t let it go to penalties…
also, notice how the other teams step up and make the play in clutch moments while the english dont. weakness under pressure must be in their dna

But we dont prepare right?, we need to improve in grassroot levels in player development, coaching development and start building national football centres with modern sports science facilities to improve our game. Were miles behing germany, france, spain, italy, holland etc.. 44 years since we won a world cup is shockin!…

@THEx7project I honestly don’t think it’s a case of them being over-rated. England have players that could get into any squad (probably excluding Spain) but they don’t play modern football like they do in the Premier League. Alot of England’s attacks consist of lobbing the ball upfield to Rooney and seeing if he can do something with it (which 99/100 he can’t). Without Rooney England are a better team, you’ll see that at the Euro’s.
