The Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro have said that they are extremely confident that the former Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho will sign a new deal with the club next week. The club are currently in discussions with the 32-year-old over the possibility of extending his deal. The former Barcelona superstar has been one suggest players for the club this season. Many were sceptical about his arrival on a free transfer from Flamengo, but he has formed an incredible partnership with the attacking talents at the club. Even though he does not have the same speed and pace as before, his vision and passing skills have been extremely crucial in helping the club mount a title challenge this season.
Even though they will not be able to win the title this season, Atletico Mineiro at extremely happy with the performance of the former Brazilian international that they are willing to extend his contract. His agent has revealed that there are a number of clubs currently looking to sign the 32-year-old, but has confirmed that his current club Atletico Mineiro are the favourites to sign him on a new deal. He has also failed to reveal the length of the contract that he will be offered by the Brazilian club.
“I cannot confirm the renewal, but here he has the conditions to stay and this is the feeling in the air. The relationship is very good and we have all the prerequisites to renew. I do not know if it will be two years, three, four, or a lifetime. Let us discuss calmly, with tranquility, he is happy at the club. We have a meeting set for next week. The year is not over for him. He is focussing on his next two matches for Atletico which will shape the season,” said Ronaldinho’s agent.
