Kroos Stated He Wishes To Remain At Munich

Manchester United have been dealt a major blow with the news that midfielder Toni Kroos will not be joining him in the summer after the German international categorically stated that he will now remain at Bayern Munich until next summer at the least. He has a contract that expires in the summer of 2015. Hence, it has been rumoured that Bayern may be interested in selling him rather than lose him on a free next summer. A few days ago, several reports stated that United had agreed a £ 20 million deal for the midfielder and that he was set to be reunited with Louis van Gaal in the next few weeks.

Negotiations, though, seems to have collapsed with the player after he has now stated that he will remain as Bayern Munich player until next summer. Meanwhile, contract negotiations will be going on with the German outfit. Bayern Munich Chief Executive recently revealed that the club do not plan to hold negotiations for a long, as they have already submitted their best offer for the player. It is believed that they have offered around € 8 million per year for the player. This doubles the current contract for the 24-year-old, but he is now thought to be considering his options since he feels undervalued.

“I am expecting to play for Bayern Munich next season. There was a lot of speculation, but Manchester is and was not an issue. At this point in time I am fully focused on preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. I know that I have to accept and respect the recent statements of the authorities at Bayern Munich. Still, honestly, I did not expect anything else in that respect after I had turned down the offer of a new contract I received from the club at the start of the current calendar year,” said the player.
