RONALDINHO BACKS PSG

The Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho has said that he is confident that the French Paris Saint-Germain can be hugely successful in the future. The French club has invested a lot of money high-profile players in the summer transfer window. The unprecedented spending by PSG in the transfer window has caused a lot of alarm from major clubs. Ronaldinho has said that he is not surprised, and he expects PSG to be challenging for the best trophies from this season onwards because they have an excellent squad at their disposal. PSG have signed the Brazilian international Thiago Silva along with the highly rated youngster Lucas.

It is estimated that the club has spent close to £ 80 million on these two players. Further, the star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is thought to be the highest-paid player in the world. Along with these high-profile signings, the club has also invested heavily in young talent and brought in players like Gregory van der Wiel for just around £ 5 million. It has made them extremely strong according to the former PSG player Ronaldinho. Ronaldinho spent a few seasons at French club before moving to his highly successful spell with Barcelona for £ 25 million.

“They look strong. They have great players, some of whom are friends, such as Thiago [Silva] and Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] both of whom I played with at AC Milan. I’m delighted for PSG and I hope they will be rewarded soon with lots of silverware,” said Ronaldinho in a recent interview given to the French tabloid  L’Equipe. Despite the high-profile additions, PSG have made a poor start to the season after drawing the opening matches. Due to the attacking reputation of PSG, teams have been reluctant to attack and this has been a major problem for Carlo Ancelotti’s men at the start of the season.
